Lee Baron joined Painters Solicitors in 1983 and trained at the firm before qualifying as a solicitor in 1984. He became a partner in 1987 and is the Head of the Private Client department. Lee is a specialist Private Client Solicitor and has been a member of STEP (Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners) since 1993, Solicitors for the Elderly since 2002 and the Law Society Private Client Section as well as being instrumental in enabling Painters to become one of the first fifty firms in the country to secure Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme accreditation from The Law Society.
He has particular experience in advising on technical IHT issues, and has successfully negotiated with HM Revenue & Customs Trusts & Estates department on behalf of clients to secure tax savings for their benefit.
Lee has considerable experience in all aspects of the preparation of Wills and Trusts, IHT planning, including estate and succession planning for individuals, farmers and other owner-managed businesses. He is also able to deal with Probate matters and Letters of Administration; estate and trust administration, accounting and taxation; some aspects of will, trust and estate disputes; preparation of Powers of Attorney, Mental Capacity issues, care of the elderly and care funding issues.
With his partner Nick Hughes, Lee is looking to further develop their rural affairs and agricultural department to offer specialist advice and assistance to farmers, landowners and the rural community.

Outside of work Lee enjoys all types of music and most sports, particularly hockey and cricket. He still plays hockey today and is a past Chairman and Life Member of Stourport Hockey Cub in Worcestershire, for whom for whom he played in three Masters National Over 40’s Cup Finals - sadly finishing runners up on each occasion! Lee also toured abroad to Holland, Portugal, Italy and Malta with the Ancient Britons Hockey Club.
He has been a legal adviser to Kemp Hospice, the local hospice charity, since 1983 and he was involved in setting up its wholly owned trading company for whom he is still secretary and a non-executive director.
