Domestic violence cross examination being banned in the family courts. Currently awaiting approval of parliament but will mean, like in criminal courts, and unrepresented perpetrator will have a legal representative appointed so they can’t personally cross examine the victim.

Also will give a statutory definition of Domestic Violence to include economic and economic coercion.

Meera Khosla, an accredited member of Resolution and Domestic Violence specialist says this is long overdue and great news to protect victims from being subjected to further coercive and controlling behaviour.
